Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos, Mexico

The Hope House, located in Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos, Jalisco, Mexico, is a children's shelter providing permanent and temporary care for boys ages 2-18 who have been abused, neglected or abandoned. Many of our boys are sent to us by governmental agencies in Jalisco, Mexico, such as the Procuraduría Social de Jalisco or DIF (Sistema Nacional para el Desarrollo Integral de la Familia), to stay while permanent housing is found, a process which may take several years.  These boys are given a safe and loving home dedicated to providing...

• The opportunity to know Jesus Christ

• Educational and vocational training

• Ability to mature socially and developmentally

• Medical care

To enhance our mission, we are resolute in achieving a self-supporting community outreach program with the added benefit of teaching the young men at Hope House transferable life skills through programs that will result in self-sufficiency. Hope House is committed to restoring the hope of a better future and nurturing our boys into productive and responsible men.

The Hope House (Casa Hogar Una Esperanza en el Corazón, A.C.) is a registered Mexican Civil Association located in Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos, Jalisco, Mexico. Hope House is located in the village of Ixtlahuacan de Membrillos, which is approximately 35 km South of Guadalajara - the second largest city in Mexico.  Guadalajara is approximately 1,200 km due South of the US border at New Mexico.

HHCR's goal is to work with organizations and individuals who have a compassion for improving the lives of underprivileged children around the world.  Our desire is not only to improve their lot in life, but to give them a secure, caring, Christ-centered environment. Since we have launched this organization in 2014, we have one location in Mexico.  The long range goal is to expand to other orphanages in other countries.  One other candidate is currently under consideration.
